Careers

Graduates of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature often continue their studies in different fields in Taiwan or abroad. Those graduates who choose to enter the job market are able to compete successfully in the job market because of their intensive and extensive English training.

Those who opt for further study can choose from traditional fields related to English Studies including further study in Literature, Linguistics, Translation, English Teaching, Education, Theatre Studies, and Cultural Studies, as well as a host of other fields. These may include Business Administration, Tourism and Hotel Management, Cultural Management, Art Management, and more.

Students entering the job market can choose to be teachers, research assistants, administrators, or staff members in trade companies. Other career fields include diplomacy, translation or interpretation, hotel management and tourism, and publishing.

The Department hosts career guidance workshops offered by alumni and arranges summer-internships with business and industry for selected students.
