Asian Languages Certificate Program

亞洲語言學分學程

I. Objective: Taiwan is an island nation with ancient economic and cultural links with other countries and peoples in East Asia and Southeast Asia. TheAsian Languages Certificate Program enables students to study the languages of several of these neighboring countries and acquire a better understanding of their cultures. Students will take two years of language training in Korean, Vietnamese, or Bahasa. They will also take two courses (minimum 4 credits) on Korean or Southeast Asian history, culture, economy, or other relevant subjects. The objective is to prepare students for further study, travel, culture exchange, or employment in the target countries.

設立宗旨：台灣是個島國，與東亞和東南亞諸國及其人民有著悠久的政經和文化淵源。亞洲語言學分學程旨在幫助本校學生學習鄰國的語言，並認識該國之文化。學生將接受為期兩年的韓語、越南語、或馬來印尼語（擇一）的語言學習，再輔以兩門選修課程（至少4學分），內容涉及韓國或東南亞的歷史、文化、經濟或其他相關產業之領域，幫助學生認識東亞和東南亞國家，有助將來進修、旅遊、文化交換，或赴該國工作厚植就業實力。

2. Organizer: The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and College of Arts.

主辦單位：外國語文學系/東海大學文學院。

3. Opportunities for collaboration: other departments in the College of Arts, the International College, the College of Commerce, the Department of Political Science, the Department of Hospitality Management, the Division of General Education, and other Tunghai teaching units.

參與教學單位及師資：文學院各系、國際學院、商學院、政治系、景觀系、通識中心及其他校內單位之專兼任師資。

4. Eligibility: Tunghai University students.

選習資格：東海大學在學學生。

5. Credits: minimum 16 credits, including 12 credits of language courses and 4 credits in culture, history, economics, political science, area studies, or other relevant courses.

修習學分：修畢12學分之語言訓練課程，及4學分與該語言/國家文化、歷史、經濟、政治、區域研究、及其他相關之課程，共16學分。

6. Language Tracks 語言種類

6.1 Korean Language Track韓國語文組

Korean Language: 1^st year (2 semesters: 3/3 credits) 一年韓文 3-3學分

Korean Language: 2^nd year (2 semesters: 3/3 credits) 二年韓文 3-3學分

Korean History, Culture, Political Science, or other relevant courses: 2 courses (4 credits) 韓國歷史、文化、政治、及其他相關之課程

6.2 Vietnamese Language Track越南語文組

Vietnamese Language: 1^st year (2 semesters: 3/3) 一年越語 3-3學分

Vietnamese Language: 2^nd year (2 semesters: 3/3) 二年越語 3-3學分

Vietnamese History, Culture, Political Science, or other relevant courses: 2 courses (4 credits) 越南歷史、文化、政治、及其他相關之課程

6.3 Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia Language Track 印尼/馬來語文組

Bahasa Language: 1^st year (2 semesters: 3/3) 一年印尼/馬來語 3-3學分

Bahasa Language: 2^nd year (2 semesters: 3/3) 二年印尼/馬來語 3-3學分

Indonesian/Malaysian History, Culture, Political Science, or other relevant courses: 2 courses (4 credits) 印尼/馬來歷史、文化、政治、及其他相關之課程

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and the College of Arts may open specific courses that will count towards the culture credits of the Certificate Program; other courses can be approved on a course by course basis depending on course offerings across the university.

外文系及文學院將開設學程之主要課程，校內其他單位開設之相關課程，經審議通過後亦可納入本學程之學分。
