Department of Foreign Languages and Literature: 1 Position

Applications are invited for the following position in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at Tunghai University, Taichung, Taiwan.

Visiting Assistant Professor or above in Spanish language and culture. The position is effective as of 1 August 2021 and is renewable upon mutual agreement. Applicants should have a PhD in Spanish, Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, or Spanish Literature/Cultural Studies. Additional expertise in Computational Linguistics, Digital Humanities, Italian, or Comparative Linguistics/Literature is desirable. We are looking for a native speaker of Spanish with advanced competence in English or a native speaker of English with a doctoral specialization in Spanish.

Teaching load will consist of minimum nine hours (three courses) per semester. A commitment to teaching and functioning in a Chinese cultural environment is essential. Evidence of scholarship/research is required.
